Forests adjoining the river provide habitat for a variety of wildlife. The forests also provide a needed buffer for the river which helps filter out pollutants and maintain water quality. Forests help maintain a stable source of clean water which the aquatic organisms need to survive. This diverse 23 acre property is owned by Quinnipiac Valley Audubon. It was donated by Esther Tappert Mortensen in 1989.
